Princess of Wales to Represent Royal Family at Armistice Day Service at National Memorial Arboretum

Kensington Palace confirmed the November 11 engagement to ensure royal representation at the Armed Forces Memorial in Staffordshire.

Overview

  • The Princess will observe the national two-minute silence at 11am before laying a wreath at the Armed Forces Memorial.
  • A specially commissioned poem by the Arboretum’s Poet in Residence, Arji Manuelpillai, will be read during the service.
  • Musical performances from Talent in the Ranks and Black Voices are included in the ceremony’s program.
  • Following the service, she will view newly inscribed names, speak with attending veterans, and meet secondary school pupils from military families with parents currently deployed.
  • She will visit the Letters from the Frontline – Words, War and Victory exhibition, a BBC Midlands collaboration, as part of a week of royal remembrance events that also includes the Festival of Remembrance and the Cenotaph service.
