Kate Middleton Marks First Visit as Colonel-in-Chief with a Military-style Engagement Involving Driving a Seven-tonne Armoured Vehicle and Operating a Drone

Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, visited the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards at Robertson Barracks in Norfolk, marking her first visit as Colonel-in-Chief.
Demonstrating a hands-on approach, Kate drove a seven-tonne armoured vehicle, which could reach speeds of up to 70mph (110km/h), and operated a reconnaissance drone during her visit.
Kate was recognized as 'a natural' by the driving instructor, Corporal Darreyl Tukana, who said she was used to driving Land Rovers and she enjoyed the experience.
She also spent time meeting senior officers, soldiers, and their families, showing particular interest in hearing about their experiences and the support available to them.
In addition to formal duties, Kate humorously promoted the regimental mascot, a Welsh Mountain pony called Trooper 'Longface' Emrys Jones, from lance corporal to corporal.
