Overview

• At the Escuela Naval Militar de Marín, Princess Leonor received the Grand Cross of the Naval Merit Order with white insignia from King Felipe VI.
• The ceremony marked the first public appearance of the king, Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofía alongside the heir since October 2024.
• Following the event in Marín, Leonor was honored with the Gold Medal of Galicia in Santiago de Compostela.
• Her award recognizes months of sea deployment aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano as part of her marine officer curriculum.
• Having completed the second year of her three-year military education, she will join the Academia General del Aire y del Espacio for air force training in 2025/26.
