Prince William Opens New Access Road for Remote Mousehole AFC in Cornwall

The project was delivered at no cost to the club through in-kind support from a private consortium convened by the Prince.

Overview

  • William inaugurated the route on November 13 at Mousehole AFC’s Trungle Parc, meeting players, volunteers, contractors and local representatives.
  • Kensington Palace said partner businesses provided materials and services in kind, with CRH among those involved, leaving the club with no bill.
  • Work was completed over the summer in about four weeks after experts concluded repairing the old lane was not viable and an alternative access had planning approval.
  • The new road replaces a narrow, pothole-ridden track that had caused congestion and vehicle damage, and locals report smoother travel and new visitors from Penzance.
  • Improved access and added parking are enabling bigger crowds and wider community use, with the club reporting attendance up by roughly 50 people per match.
