Prince Harry Returns to U.K. for WellChild Awards and Children in Need Donation

The visit centers on charity work, with no meeting with the King confirmed.

Overview

  • On Sept. 8, he will attend the WellChild Awards in London as the charity’s long-standing patron, delivering remarks and presenting an honor.
  • On Sept. 9 in Nottingham, he will visit the Community Recording Studio to announce a substantial donation to BBC Children in Need and highlight local programs tackling youth violence.
  • He is traveling alone, with Meghan Markle and their children not expected to join following his May 2025 Court of Appeal defeat over taxpayer-funded security in the U.K.
  • Buckingham Palace has not confirmed any reunion with King Charles III, whom Harry last saw in February 2024, and no meeting with Prince William is expected.
  • Senior aides from both sides were photographed meeting in July, signaling a tentative reopening of channels as Harry undertakes one of his longest recent U.K. trips to engage with patronages including Invictus, the Diana Award and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
