Prince and Princess of Wales Back Mental Health Pilot in Rural Norfolk

The two-year program, launching in 2025, aims to address mental health challenges in farming communities near Sandringham Estate.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are co-funding a mental health pilot program with Norfolk and Waveney Mind to support rural and farming communities in northwest Norfolk.
The initiative will provide face-to-face counseling, targeted group sessions, and mental health training for local employers to offer early intervention support.
The program will serve the 1,500-strong community near Sandringham Estate, including nearly half who live on the estate itself.
Kensington Palace highlighted rural isolation and poor mental health as persistent issues across the UK, with the program aiming to create a blueprint for sustainable mental health support in rural areas.
If successful, the pilot could be replicated on other estates across the UK to address similar mental health challenges in rural settings.
