Prime Video Hires Active 76ers Guard Kyle Lowry as NBA Analyst on Multiyear Deal

The move marks a staged on‑air transition timed to Amazon’s first season under the NBA’s new rights deals.

Overview

  • Lowry will make select studio appearances during the 2025–26 season with responsibilities set to grow in future years.
  • The 39-year-old remains an active Philadelphia 76ers player entering his 20th NBA season and brings six All-Star selections, a 2019 title and a 2016 Olympic gold medal.
  • Prime Video’s NBA coverage launches Oct. 24 with Celtics–Knicks and Timberwolves–Lakers, and Lowry is expected to take part that night since the 76ers are off.
  • Amazon will carry 66 regular-season games this season, all six play-in games, portions of the playoffs and the NBA Cup quarterfinals, semifinals and final.
  • Lowry and Prime Sports executive Amina Hussein praised the partnership, which follows a recent trend of active players contributing as analysts, notably Draymond Green.
