Prime Accused in Assam Rifles Ambush Arrested in Manipur as Arms Cache Linked to Attack Recovered

  • Based on his disclosure, forces recovered an A4 rifle, an HK rifle, two AK rifles, an INSAS rifle, multiple magazines, lathode shells and hundreds of rounds, along with a phone, wallet and an Aadhaar card linked to the case.
  • Raids are underway to locate other participants; two suspects were earlier detained and a silver‑blue van believed to have been used in the attack was seized at Mutum Yangbi in Imphal West.
  • Parallel operations in Mizoram’s Champhai district yielded an M4A1 carbine and ammunition with one arrest in Zokhawthar, a 1.377 kg heroin seizure with three arrests, and a separate cache near Saikhumphai that included a G3 rifle, a sniper rifle, a mortar tube and grenades.
