Primal Scream Defends Concert Film as Police Assess Antisemitism Report

Police are assessing a complaint from a Jewish security group over the unapproved visuals.

Overview

  • At the Dec. 8 Roundhouse show, a film during "Swastika Eyes" showed a Star of David entwined with a swastika over images of leaders including Benjamin Netanyahu, Donald Trump and Keir Starmer.
  • The visuals also depicted destruction in Gaza and ended with the message "Our government is complicit in genocide."
  • The Roundhouse apologized, called the imagery antisemitic, said it was shown without its knowledge, and stated it is investigating how it appeared on stage.
  • The Community Security Trust reported the incident to the Metropolitan Police, which said officers are assessing the report, as other advocacy groups condemned the display and indicated possible legal action.
  • Primal Scream said on Instagram the film is a piece of art meant to provoke debate, not hate, framing it as an exercise of freedom of expression.
