PRF Reports Zero Holiday Road Deaths in Paraíba and Alagoas as Crashes Decline

Heightened holiday policing produced thousands of checks across federal routes, with DUI arrests reported in Paraíba.

Overview

  • Paraíba logged 23 traffic accidents from December 23–28 on federal highways, down 28% from 32 in the same 2024 window, with no fatalities reported.
  • Alagoas recorded no fatal crashes between December 24–28 and three people seriously injured, a 40% reduction in serious cases versus 2024.
  • In Paraíba, officers stopped 2,007 vehicles, conducted 1,807 breath tests, arrested two drivers for DUI, and deployed roughly 180 personnel at strategic points.
  • In Alagoas, about 1,400 vehicles and 1,200 people were inspected, with more than 800 breathalyzer tests conducted during the operation.
  • The results apply to federal highways only and reflect state balances from the PRF’s national Operation Natal released on December 29, 2025.
