Particle: PRF Intensifies Holiday Highway Enforcement for Christmas

Overview

In Pará, PRF’s Rodovida operation that began on December 18 will run through February 22, 2026, with reinforced staffing, radar checks and public education focused on motorcycle violations, speeding, alcohol use and prohibited overtaking.
In Mato Grosso do Sul, Operação Natal starts on December 23 after three road deaths in 24 hours, deploying 24 operational units and nine delegacies over more than 4,000 km with camera monitoring and temporary restrictions on heavy trucks on December 24–25.
In Amapá, PRF is concentrating enforcement on BR‑210 and BR‑156 with emphasis on helmet use, irregular passenger transport, speeding, drunk driving and unsafe passing, alongside driver‑education activities.
PRF reported results from Piauí through December 21, citing more than 86,000 traffic infractions, about 12,000 prohibited overtakes and roughly 16,000 radar‑captured speed violations since January 1.
Authorities issued travel guidance that urges trip planning, vehicle checks, strict speed compliance, safe passing, seat belts and proper child restraints, with extra caution for rain‑reduced visibility and animals on roadways.
