Overview
- MRI at Münster’s Clemenshospital confirmed that Malik Batmaz tore his ACL and meniscus eight minutes into the 2–1 win over Holstein Kiel.
- Batmaz is ruled out for the rest of the 2. Bundesliga season, joining Antonio Tikvic and Simon Scherder on the long-term injury list.
- Scherder recently underwent successful surgery in Munich for a left ACL rupture, the third such injury of his career.
- Head coach Alexander Ende voiced sympathy and pledged support, while Batmaz prepares for surgery with Prof. Mirco Herbort in Munich and a planned rehab stint in Gelsenkirchen.
- The depleted squad also misses Joshua Mees, Etienne Amenyido and Marvin Schulz, with only Oscar Vilhelmsson possibly returning for the Nov. 7 match at Greuther Fürth.
