The approach will be tested at two shops including one in Broughty Ferry, near Dundee. They will hope to keep customers in for longer with more space for dine-in guests

Overview

  • Pret is piloting its dine-in format in Broughty Ferry and Maidenhead to attract employees working flexible schedules.
  • New outlets will serve made-to-order dishes like croque monsieur on porcelain crockery, feature a children’s play area and include a large community table.
  • Managing director Clare Clough says hybrid working is here to stay and gives Pret confidence to open more locations in regional towns.
  • Since January 2023, more than 80% of Pret’s new openings have been outside London as part of its shift toward a national brand.
  • Pret plans to expand its estate to 1,000 stores and estimates that over 100 could adopt the new dine-in design.
