President Murmu Launches ‘Skill the Nation’ AI Challenge Under SOAR

The initiative positions AI training as a tool for inclusive growth across India.

  • She conferred AI certificates to students and Members of Parliament who completed online modules under the SOAR programme.
  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship reported 14,938 certifications from 159,732 enrollments since SOAR’s launch in July.
  • SOAR offers short 10–15 hour introductions and 30–60 hour comprehensive courses covering AI fundamentals, data science, analytics, and applied skills.
  • Murmu also virtually inaugurated IGNOU’s Regional and Skill Centre in Rairangpur, Odisha, and the programme highlighted partnerships with Microsoft and HCL Tech.
