President Murmu Awards Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to 20 Children on Veer Bal Diwas

  • Twenty recipients from 18 states and union territories were honoured at Rashtrapati Bhavan across Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology.
  • Ten-year-old Shravan Singh of Ferozepur was recognised for serving soldiers during Operation Sindoor, with the Army pledging to sponsor his education and its Golden Arrow Division naming him the 'Youngest Civil Warrior'.
  • Eight-year-old Vyoma Priya received a posthumous bravery award, accepted by her mother, after she died trying to rescue a six-year-old from an electrified slide.
  • Sports honourees included chess prodigy Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika, who won the World Schools Under-7 title with a perfect 9/9, and cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, noted for record-setting innings at just 14.
  • The President tied the awards to Veer Bal Diwas in her address, also citing life-saving acts by Ajay Raj and Mohammed Sidan P as examples of the values being celebrated.
