The new 720-meter seabridge and island harbor have been inaugurated, marking a significant addition to Prerow's tourism appeal.

  • The construction of the seabridge and island harbor took two years, following over 25 years of planning and discussion.
  • Ministerpräsidentin Manuela Schwesig and Umweltminister Till Backhaus, both from SPD, led the opening ceremony.
  • The project, initially budgeted at 42 million euros, saw costs rise to 46.9 million euros, funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
  • The island harbor offers 50 berths, including spaces for sport boats, fishing vessels, and a 28-meter rescue cruiser.
  • The new infrastructure replaces the old emergency harbor at Darßer Ort, enhancing Prerow's status as a tourist destination.
