  • Preorders are live through Asus, Microsoft, Best Buy and other retailers in several regions, with UK listings active across major chains.
  • The base Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and a 60Wh battery, while the Ally X upgrades to a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and an 80Wh battery.
  • Both devices run a handheld-focused Xbox experience on Windows with access to Game Pass, cloud streaming and third‑party PC storefronts.
  • Tom’s Hardware and PC Gamer report eBay listings for the Ally X as high as about $2,500 even as MSRP preorders remain available at $999.
  • A rumour from the Xbox Era podcast, echoed by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, suggests Microsoft and Asus aimed to subsidise prices further but could not.
