Premiership Rugby to Trial Designated Away Fan Sections in April

The initiative aims to enhance matchday atmosphere and attendance while maintaining rugby's tradition of inclusive fan culture.

Designated away fan sections will be trialed at Saracens' home game against Gloucester on April 19 and Leicester Tigers' home game against Harlequins on April 26.
The trial is part of Premiership Rugby's broader effort to improve stadium atmosphere and increase attendance, which currently averages 81%.
Fans will have the option to sit in designated away sections or remain among home supporters, ensuring no mandatory segregation.
The initiative builds on the success of unofficial away fan groupings in previous matches, such as Harlequins' 2021 semi-final against Bristol Bears.
If successful, the trial could lead to wider adoption of designated away sections across the league in future seasons.
