Overview
- The earthquake struck at 7:29 a.m. with an epicenter on the west side of Briones Regional Park at an approximate depth of nearly 10 miles.

- A magnitude 1.5 foreshock occurred just after 4 a.m., and minor aftershocks followed, including a reported 2.4 one minute after the main event.

- Sunday’s jolt was the fourth morning earthquake in five weeks in the East Bay, following a Sept. 22 magnitude 4.3 in Berkeley and an Oct. 16 magnitude 3.1.
