Overview

  • A heavy first-corner collision involving Marco Wittmann, Mirko Bortolotti, Nicki Thiim and Jules Gounon triggered a red flag and a 30-minute race suspension.
  • On the restart, two mandatory pit windows led to lead swaps as Jack Aitken edged ahead before Preining’s early second stop flipped the order.
  • Starting from sixth on the grid, Preining executed an undercut at the second pit window and crossed the line 1.5 seconds clear of Aitken.
  • Only 15 of the 22 starters reached the finish after multiple retirements and collisions, including Timo Glock’s technical failure.
  • Lucas Auer’s eighth place preserves his championship lead while Preining moves into a tie for second as the series pauses for five weeks ahead of the Nürburgring rounds.
