Overview

• Emergency services and National Highways officers remain at the scene between junctions 9 and 8, where debris and central reservation damage are being cleared.
• The collision, reported around 3am, involved two cars and two lorries, with oil, fuel, coolant and hydraulic fluid treated on the carriageway.
• Traffic caught within the closure has been released past the scene, and a signed hollow-square diversion runs via the A20 through Charing, Lenham and Harrietsham.
• South East Coast Ambulance Service said no injuries were reported from the M20 crash.
• Separately, a six-vehicle pile-up on the M6 between junctions 15 and 16 led to two people assessed for minor injuries and heavy congestion on the M6, A500 and A50.
