- Prashant Kishor won the Bankipur Assembly bypoll on Monday by about 19,300 votes, receiving roughly 64,151 votes to BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar’s about 44,827 and ending the party’s uninterrupted hold on the seat since 1995.
- Counting showed Kishor leading in every round and extending his margin through 31 rounds, with the bypoll recording a low voter turnout of roughly 34.3 percent.
- Kishor accused the Patna police and local administration of intimidating voters and detaining campaign workers and said his party will file complaints with the Election Commission and, if needed, the Supreme Court.
