Overview

• At a Patna press conference, Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor named Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, JD(U) minister Ashok Choudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, and BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal in detailed corruption and misrepresentation claims.
• Kishor cited a Bihar School Examination Board affidavit stating Samrat Choudhary (also known as Samrat Kumar Maurya) failed matriculation, questioned his claimed D.Litt degree, and asked the Election Commission to require proof of a Class 10 pass.
• He alleged Ashok Choudhary used proxies and family members for land deals, including a 2019 purchase in a secretary’s name later transferred to daughter Shambhavi, and pointed to acquisitions worth about Rs 38.44 crore via Manav Vaibhav Vikas Trust along with an Income Tax-triggered Rs 25 lakh payment adjustment.
• On Mangal Pandey, Kishor claimed Rs 2.12 crore flowed into a Punjab National Bank account of the minister’s wife in 2019–2020 and demanded an explanation for the source of funds.
• He accused Sanjay Jaiswal’s family petrol pump of inflated billing to a municipal body and said a Bettiah flyover was held up near the outlet, as JD(U) figures avoided addressing specifics and instead reiterated Nitish Kumar’s zero-tolerance image.
