Prasad Showcases 10 Restored Indian Classics at IFFI Goa
The project stems from Prasad’s collaboration with NFDC–NFAI to preserve India’s film heritage.
Overview
- The program runs November 20–28 at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Goa.
- The 10-film lineup spans 1927 to 1993, including Umrao Jaan, Pyaasa, Subarnarekha, Rudaali and Muraliwala.
- Prasad’s teams applied digital restoration, color grading and final mastering and quality control to protect picture and sound fidelity.
- Screenings are scheduled across the week, including Umrao Jaan and Gaman on Nov. 21–22, Rudaali on Nov. 22, Subarnarekha on Nov. 23, Pyaasa on Nov. 24, Susman and Kireedam on Nov. 27, and Musafir on Nov. 28.
- Prasad is also presenting restored Sri Lankan titles Welikathara (1971) and Akasa Kusum (2008) at the Nantes Three Continents Film Festival from Nov. 21–29.
