Overview
- As of December 31, 2025, 43 of 53 power projects reviewed by the Prime Minister have been commissioned, representing Rs 3.02 lakh crore in investment.
- The remaining 10 projects, valued at about Rs 1.1 lakh crore, are reported to be in advanced stages of completion.
- The reviewed portfolio comprises 27 transmission, 14 thermal, nine hydro and three coal-mine projects.
- PGCIL leads with 20 projects and NTPC follows with 14, while NHPC, NEEPCO, THDC and Sterlite have commissioned two projects each.
- Beyond the PM-reviewed set, PRAGATI has tracked 237 commissioned power projects worth Rs 10.53 lakh crore and about 108 under construction worth roughly Rs 6 lakh crore, with delays often tied to land acquisition, clearances, right-of-way and coordination.
