Practical Voter Guide Released Ahead of Brazil’s Oct. 4 General Election

Authorities and major outlets are publishing state candidate lists and step‑by‑step instructions so voters can confirm registration, prepare ID and avoid problems on election day.

Overview

  • Voting is set for Sunday, Oct. 4, with a possible second round on Oct. 25 and polling open from 8:00 to 17:00 Brasília time across the country.
  • The e‑Título app can serve as official ID only for electors with biometrics and a photo on file and also lets users check their polling place, file a justificativa and pay fines by GRU, Pix or card.
  • Phones and recording devices may not be taken into the voting cabin, so the Justiça Eleitoral advises voters to bring a printed ‘colinha’ with candidate numbers to avoid delays at the urnas.
  • Media outlets using TSE data have posted searchable state candidate rosters and ballot numbers, including Cristina Graeml (PSD) — 555 for Senate in Paraná and Coronel Jonildo (DC) — 277 for Senate in Pará.
  • Voters who missed previous elections can still vote if their registration is not cancelled; registration is cancelled only after three consecutive unjustified absences with unpaid fines and can be checked or regularized via the TSE portal or e‑Título.
