• On Friday the Partido Popular registered an extraordinary plenary request in the lower house to compel Pedro Sánchez to explain alleged corruption tied to Begoña Gómez.
• Judge Juan Carlos Peinado this week added an embezzlement imputation against Gómez, alleging use of a Moncloa adviser for her private activities.
• The PP also asked the Diputación Permanente to call six ministers, including María Jesús Montero, Elma Saiz and Ana Redondo, to address debt relief for Catalonia, migration pressures and equality issues.
• Party leaders framed the push using GRECO’s anti-corruption critiques and recent Financial Times coverage to challenge the government’s integrity claims.
• In parallel, the PP will summon three ministers to the Senate next week over wildfire management and has additional pending requests on rail disruptions and the migration crisis.
