PP and Vox in Valencia Approve Migrant–National Statistical Split for 2025–2028 Plan

The committee vote clears the way for inclusion in the statistics plan within a broader PP–Vox push to recast data priorities alongside parliamentary norms.

Overview

  • A Vox resolution backed by the PP passed in Les Corts' Economy, Budgets and Finance committee to compare 'población nacional' and 'población migrante' in the Plan Valenciano de Estadística 2025–2028.
  • The disaggregation will cover net contribution to the welfare state, receipt of benefits, emergency health service use, blood donations, and absenteeism, subject to technical feasibility.
  • PP and Vox used their majority to advance the measure, while PSPV-PSOE and Compromís voted against and condemned the initiative as discriminatory and 'racist'.
  • Separately, PP and Vox filed a joint bill to amend the chamber’s rules by scrapping inclusive language in favor of RAE guidance and eliminating the LGTBI, European Affairs, Human Rights, and Citizen Participation commissions.
  • The proposed rule changes would integrate LGTBI matters into a Family, Social Policy and Equality body and revise parity provisions for presidencies and vice presidencies, which still require formal approval.
