Power Restorations Continue as High Winds Ease Across Central Maryland

  • The National Weather Service kept a wind advisory in effect until noon Tuesday with morning gusts near 45 mph before conditions relax later in the day.
  • BGE reported roughly 10,000 customers without power at 9 p.m. Monday and about 3,100 still out across more than 260 outages by 8 a.m. Tuesday after more than 14,500 restorations.
  • The utility said most outages stemmed from trees and limbs damaging equipment, with crews working around the clock to complete hundreds of repair jobs.
  • The hardest-hit areas included Howard, Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, as peak gusts reached up to 61 mph Monday in parts of the region.
  • Forecasters expect highs in the 30s with harsher wind chills and a slight chance of light, possibly non‑accumulating snow late Wednesday into early Thursday.
