Powderfinger Announce Nine 'Encore Run' Shows

The November–December 2027 additions are designed to widen ticket access after reports that more than 300,000 reunion tickets were snapped up in six days.

Overview

  • The band published a nine-date Encore Run that begins on 5 November 2027 and runs into December with two shows each in Melbourne, Hobart and Perth, a one-off in Canberra and two hometown dates at Brisbane Showgrounds.
  • Pre-sales run at 10am local time on Wednesday, 4 November and general public sales start at 11am local time on Thursday, 5 November for the added shows.
  • Powderfinger named all supporting acts for the Encore Run, including Something For Kate, DMA’S, Ocean Alley, Carla Geneve and Luca Brasi, with the Brisbane nights featuring The Living End, You Am I, Violent Soho, Ball Park Music and Thelma Plum.
  • The Encore Run was announced after organisers reported more than 300,000 tickets were bought for the original 26-date reunion in six days and frontman Bernard Fanning said the band were 'gobsmacked' and wanted to include cities such as Hobart and Canberra.
  • Supports for the original 26-date reunion schedule remain unannounced, and the extra dates are intended to give more fans a chance at tickets and to reduce the number who missed out on the first sales.
