Overview

• The exercise will simulate a partial roof collapse at Karl-Liebknecht-Stadion to evaluate regional disaster readiness.
• About 170 emergency responders, 50 rescue vehicles and a helicopter are set to participate in the operation.
• Some 150 volunteers will be made up and assigned roles portraying injured, trapped or disoriented victims.
• Organizers intend to streamline procedures from first responders’ arrival through patient transport to Potsdam hospitals.
• The €20,000 exercise is expected to cause traffic disruptions around the stadium during the July 5 drill.
