• Ewan Methven, 27, admitted at the High Court in Glasgow on June 17 to killing Phoenix Spencer-Horn, 20, in their East Kilbride apartment last November.
• Prosecutors revealed that Spencer-Horn was strangled, stabbed more than 20 times and her body dismembered in an effort to hide the crime.
• Methven told police he believed he suffered a drug-induced psychotic episode after taking cocaine, alcohol and steroids.
