Overview

  • Korea Post said it will stop accepting most U.S.-bound parcels next week, pausing airmail on Monday and most EMS items on Tuesday while recommending a private courier alternative that can handle customs clearance.
  • Australia Post has suspended transit items destined for the United States effective August 20 and said any misrouted parcels containing goods will be returned to origin.
  • European operators PostNord (Sweden and Denmark), Posten Bring (Norway) and bpost (Belgium) will halt U.S.-bound parcel shipments starting August 23, with letters and documents unaffected.
  • Etsy will temporarily suspend U.S.-bound shipping label purchases starting August 25 for Australia Post, Canada Post, Evri and Royal Mail because those carriers cannot support prepaid duties.
  • The U.S. ends duty-free treatment for low-value imports on August 29 under a Trump executive order, with Homeland Security citing an explosion in such shipments and their use in tariff avoidance and illicit flows.
