  • Vasquez started the Soft Moon as a home-recording project that evolved into a popular post-punk/darkwave project. The music, originally intended only for Vasquez and a few friends, established a worldwide fan base.
  • Vasquez was born and raised in Oakland, California, and started his first band by the age of 15. He released his debut single, 'Breathe the Fire,' on Captured Tracks in 2010, and a self-titled full-length later that year.
  • Vasquez's Afro-Cuban heritage played a key role in the creation of his signature tracks. He released a total of five albums, with his latest project, instrumentals from his 2022 album 'Exister,' released in December 2023.
