• The fatal incident occurred on August 23 at Lisbon’s Campo Pequeno during Manuel Maria Trindade’s first appearance in the ring.
• Footage shows Trindade running to provoke the bull, reaching for its horns, and being lifted and hurled into the arena wall.
• Paramedics treated him on the sand and he was transferred to São José Hospital, placed in an induced coma, and died later on August 23 from irreparable brain damage.
• Other bullfighters and forcados eventually brought the animal under control by pulling its tail and using capes to distract it.
