Portland to Build $150 Million Dual-Sport Training Facility for NWSL and WNBA Teams

The groundbreaking facility, set to open in 2026, will be the first in the U.S. to house professional women's teams from two different sports.

The Portland Thorns (NWSL) and the city's new WNBA team will share a state-of-the-art, 63,000-square-foot training complex in Hillsboro, Oregon.
The privately funded $150 million project, led by RAJ Sports and designed by architecture firm Populous, will include two soccer pitches, two basketball courts, and advanced recovery amenities.
The facility is specifically designed with female athletes in mind, featuring spa-like locker rooms, family spaces, and performance-focused dining services.
Phase one of construction, costing $75 million, will transform a former Nike office complex, with completion targeted before the 2026 WNBA season begins.
This initiative reflects Portland's strong support for women's sports and aims to foster collaboration and community between the two teams.
