Portland Thorns Acquire Canadian Midfielder Jessie Fleming from Chelsea

Fleming, a gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, is set to play a 'more consistent role' in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Canadian midfielder Jessie Fleming has been acquired by the Portland Thorns from Chelsea of the Women's Super League.
Fleming is joining the Thorns after a successful four-year stint with Chelsea, where she won three straight WSL titles and three consecutive Women's FA Cups.
The Thorns reportedly paid a transfer fee of $318,575 to Chelsea, one of the largest fees ever paid by a club in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Fleming, who won a gold medal with Canada at the Tokyo Olympics, is looking forward to a 'more consistent role' with the Thorns.
The Thorns' season opens on March 16 at Kansas City.
