Overview

• Just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, officers found a man with gunshot wounds in a vehicle near the 5800 block of Southeast Foster Road and took him to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
• Southeast Foster Road was closed in both directions between 56th and 59th Avenues during the on-scene investigation.
• The Homicide Unit is leading the Foster-Powell shooting inquiry, and police said any suspect had left before officers arrived.
• Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers found a man beaten and unconscious on a sidewalk in the 400 block of Southwest 4th Avenue, and he was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
• In the Southwest assault, one person was detained and a discarded firearm was recovered, but the detainee was identified and released due to insufficient evidence.
