Portland Police Investigate Two Pre-Dawn Attacks That Leave One Man in Critical Condition

Detectives are seeking tips with no arrests in either case.

  • Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers found a man beaten and unconscious on a sidewalk in the 400 block of Southwest 4th Avenue, and he was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • In the Southwest assault, one person was detained and a discarded firearm was recovered, but the detainee was identified and released due to insufficient evidence.
