Portland Police Arrest Nick Sortor and Two Others After Fights at ICE Protest

Police say they acted after multiple fights near the ICE facility.

Overview

  • Nick Sortor, 27, was arrested late Thursday outside Portland’s ICE building on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct, along with Son Mi Yi, 43, and Angela Davis, 49.
  • Portland Police Bureau said Dialogue Officers saw a fight around 8 p.m., federal officers briefly detained two participants, and the Rapid Response Team made three arrests around 11:16 p.m.
  • Jail records show Sortor and Yi were released without bond overnight, while Davis initially remained in custody.
  • Video posted to social media shows Sortor in handcuffs during the arrest, and on-scene reporter Katie Daviscourt claimed on X that he was targeted by Antifa before a physical altercation.
  • The bureau said it continues to monitor the protest and may make additional arrests, as demonstrations at the ICE site persist and a federal court weighs challenges to the National Guard callout.
