Porsche 911 Crashes Through Ludwigsburg Garage Wall, Left Hanging Over Vent Shaft

The 90-year-old driver was rescued unhurt after crews secured the car for a controlled recovery.

Overview

  • Police reported the crash at about 15:45 in the Rathaus underground garage in the town near Stuttgart.
  • Firefighters freed the trapped driver, and recovery teams lowered the Porsche fully into the ventilation shaft to retrieve it.
  • The vehicle was initially stuck with its rear roughly five meters above the floor of the shaft, according to police.
  • Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg’s building manager said the breached wall was 17.5 centimeters thick and estimated damage at about €95,000, with repairs expected by Christmas.
  • He suggested the driver likely confused the accelerator and brake, a scenario officials have not yet confirmed as the cause remains under investigation.
