Pope Francis to Meet Ukrainian President Zelenskiy at Vatican

The meeting follows previous discussions on Russian aggression and comes amid ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will meet Pope Francis on Friday morning at the Vatican Apostolic Palace.
Their last meeting occurred during the G7 summit in Italy this past summer, with prior discussions held in December 2023.
Zelenskiy is also scheduled to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his visit to Rome.
Pope Francis previously faced criticism from Ukrainian officials for suggesting Ukraine negotiate peace with Russia.
The Pope plans to elevate a Catholic Church bishop to cardinal in a ceremony on December 8.
