Pontins Parent Company Charged with Corporate Manslaughter Over Fatal Ceiling Collapse

- The charges stem from a February 2019 incident at Brean Sands Holiday Park in Somerset, where a 40-metre section of ducting and ceiling collapsed in an entertainment area.
- The collapse injured 18 people and ultimately resulted in the death of 68-year-old Wendy Jones in August 2019.
- Stephen Bennison, a contractor, has also been charged under the Health and Safety at Work Act for failing to discharge general safety duties.
- Court proceedings are scheduled to begin on May 6, 2025, at Bristol Magistrates’ Court, following a joint investigation by Avon and Somerset Police and Somerset Council.
