Overview
- Pontevedra will procure six 99.90 kWp photovoltaic installations with 50 kWh lithium batteries before year-end under the +Renovables program, with output dedicated to municipal self-consumption within two kilometers and 10% reserved for vulnerable households.
- Each site will use 185 panels with monitored generation, to be installed on facilities in Cambados, A Illa, Sanxenxo, Vilanova, Ribadumia and Valga, with beneficiary councils contributing 20% of costs.
- The provincial government in Pontevedra says a €2.5 million EU grant will mobilize €4.2 million across 38 municipalities, alongside support from the new Energy Transformation Office for municipal planning and energy communities.
- Álava has received six additional solar proposals over the summer and is currently reviewing 30 renewable projects in total, with deputy Saray Zárate cautioning that most will not proceed unless they meet all requirements and noting preference for generation near consumption.
- Vitoria increased its community-energy aid line to €700,000, added support for technologies beyond solar and for shared zero-emission vehicles, and will accept applications through March 30, 2026 with grants covering 70–80% of eligible costs and up to 50% (max €20,000) for community-use EVs requiring at least 15 members.
