Ponchatoula Police Arrest 68-Year-Old in Highway 51 Crash That Injured 8, Including 3 Children
Police say the 68-year-old accused driver falsely claimed to be a passenger, then was identified as the sole operator.

- Anthony Conley, 68, was determined to be the driver and sole occupant of a 2015 Chevy Silverado after initially telling officers he was a passenger.
- He was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of hit and run, obstruction of justice, eight counts of negligent injuring, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
- The three-vehicle collision occurred around 6:27 p.m. Monday on Highway 51 North near St. Patrick's Boulevard and involved a 2014 GMC Terrain and a 2024 Hyundai Tucson in addition to the Silverado.
- Three children ages 2, 5, and 7 were airlifted to Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, and other injured patients were transported to North Oaks Medical Center and Lakeview Hospital.
- Investigators collected blood kits from two drivers and, under a search warrant, obtained Conley’s sample for state lab testing, as Chief Bry Layrisson asks witnesses to contact the department.
