Polygon Sets Giugliano Hardfork for April 8 to Cut Finality Time

Overview

• Giugliano, documented as PIP-84, is slated to hit mainnet at block 85,268,500 around 2 p.m. UTC on Wednesday, the Polygon Foundation said.
• The upgrade lets block producers announce blocks earlier, embeds fee parameters in block headers, and adds new RPC fee endpoints to deliver fee data.
• Testing on the Amoy testnet in March showed roughly a two‑second drop in transaction finality after these changes.
• Node operators must upgrade to Bor v2.7.0 or Erigon v3.5.0 before activation to remain in sync with the network.
