Polo Ralph Lauren Debuts Oak Bluffs Collection with Film Premiere and Community Events

The collection launches July 24 to coincide with the YouTube debut of its documentary celebrating Oak Bluffs’ cultural history

Overview

  • The limited-edition collection becomes available July 24 online, in select Ralph Lauren stores and at Morehouse and Spelman campus bookstores.
  • Designs by Morehouse and Spelman alumni blend maritime motifs with collegiate staples, including embroidered twill jackets, varsity sweaters, sport caps, swimwear and leather sandals.
  • The campaign is anchored by A Portrait of the American Dream: Oak Bluffs, a short film directed by Cole Brown that weaves archival imagery and firsthand accounts, premiering on YouTube July 24.
  • A special screening and panel discussion will follow on August 8 at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival in partnership with the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
  • Polo Ralph Lauren has teamed with The Cottagers Inc. for historic restoration and cultural preservation and will continue funding HBCU scholarships through the United Negro College Fund.
