Polish Woman Who Claimed to Be Madeleine McCann Charged with Stalking

Julia Wandelt, a Polish woman who previously claimed to be missing British child Madeleine McCann, was arrested at Bristol Airport on February 19, 2025.
She has been charged with four counts of stalking, including allegations of harassment against Madeleine McCann's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann.
The charges relate to incidents occurring between January 2024 and February 2025, according to Leicestershire Police.
Wandelt gained international attention in 2023 after claiming to be Madeleine McCann, a claim disproven by DNA testing, but she continued to assert a connection to the McCanns on social media.
A 60-year-old woman from Wales, who was also arrested on suspicion of stalking, has been released on bail, while Wandelt remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
