Overview
- A 40-year-old Polish cyclist lost his balance along Lake Garda’s eastern shore on June 20 and plunged about 90 metres into the water.
 - He had paused for a urination break with two fellow riders and did not return, prompting them to alert authorities.
 - Rescue teams recovered his body from the lake and local police have opened an investigation into the incident.
 - This marks the third fatal accident in northern Italy this month, after a drowning at Lake Garda and a fall into a gorge at Lake Idro.
 - The lakeside road is popular with foreign cyclists but features sharp curves and limited visibility that can make it hazardous.
