Police Widen Hunt for Christine Murton as Volunteers Join DK9 Search

Officers describe the 78-year-old as vulnerable, focusing efforts around Nacton and Levington after CCTV sightings.

  • About 60 members of the public joined a DK9 Search and Rescue operation on Sunday from Orwell Country Park to help look for the missing Rushmere St Andrew woman.
  • Suffolk Police expanded weekend searches to remote terrain including Nacton, Levington, Nacton Shore and Trinity Marshes with specialist officers, dogs and 50 SulSAR volunteers.
  • CCTV placed Christine Murton on Chatsworth Drive at about 10:40am on 12 November and later near Amberfield Drive in Nacton at around 2:30pm walking toward Decoy Wood.
  • Her blue Toyota Yaris was found on 20 November at a Pinewood retail park, with police saying it may have been parked there for several weeks.
  • Residents are urged to check gardens, sheds, outbuildings and CCTV, then report any information to Suffolk Police quoting CAD 257 of 12 November, with caution advised due to hazardous conditions.
