Overview
- Delhi Police registered a case at Vasant Kunj North under BNS sections 75(2), 79 and 351(2) after multiple students alleged sexual and mental harassment at a private management institute.
- Chaitanyanand, accused by at least 17 students, remains unaccounted for as teams conduct raids, a look-out notice is in force and his last known location was traced to Mumbai.
- Investigators say the institute’s DVR was manipulated to erase footage and they expect his BMW dashcam files could provide key evidence.
- The institute said it moved quickly to safeguard students and submitted a complaint with more than 300 pages of documents to police on 19 July, which led to an FIR on 23 July.
- A previous 2016 FIR detailed similar behavior by Chaitanyanand, and separately police actions continued in other cases with a Dhanbad school principal facing inquiry over alleged obscene remarks and Khandwa police arresting Ayyub for grave desecration with plans to invoke the NSA.
